The Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Botanical Garden, commonly known as the Pamplemousses Botanical Garden, is a popular tourist attraction located in Mauritius. It is one of the oldest botanical gardens in the Southern Hemisphere and covers an area of about 37 hectares.

History:
The garden was initially opened as a private garden by French governor Mahé de Labourdonnais in the 18th century. It was later named after Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam, the first Prime Minister of Mauritius, in 1988. The garden is famous for its diverse collection of indigenous and exotic plant species.

The botanical garden boasts a wide variety of flora, including giant water lilies, palm trees, spice plants, and medicinal plants. One of the main highlights is the Talipot Palm, which blooms once every 30 to 80 years before dying.
